We viewed many wedding venues all over the country but as soon as we went to thicket we knew it was the one.

The venue itself it unreal. So many of these historic wedding venues have a dodgy red carpet and dated bedroms but at thicket everything is modern yet timeless, Instragramable but also practical ... a brides dream!

Every bedroom has been designed beautifully and there are so many little details around the venue which make your wedding day extra special. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue & the rooms were.

Although we fell in love with thicket for the beauty, what we didnt know was how amazing the staff were going to be.... Becca was an absolute dream from start to finish, supportive, so kind & understanding throughout. We had Becca was with us from start to finish and I can hand on heart say we couldnt have had a better person organise & run the day for us. Thicket think of every little detail and im forever grateful to Becca & Jess for giving us the best weekend of our lives.

Thicket was the dream wedding venue and I could not recommend them enough. What really makes Thicket so special is the amazing team there. Anna (and the whole team) are brilliant at their jobs and really made the whole process so special and as easy and stress free as possible. From the initial meeting to our wedding day they were attentive, there to answer questions and guide us to the right suppliers. They're just a great laugh to be around too. Anna was there with me the whole way and made planning our wedding so much easier. Nothing was too much and she always knew what to say!

The venue itself is stunning and we loved being able to offer our guests rooms. The attention to detail is excellent and the whole place has been so thoughtfully finished.

To say Thicket Priory was the most incredible place to get married would be an understatement. Anna, you are fantastic. It was a delight to arrange our wedding with you & you just made the whole thing a breeze. I cannot thank you enough!

What a truly magical, totally unique & stunning venue! When I Googled Top 10 wedding venues in York, the Priory was No 1. I scrolled no further! I knew straight away this was the one. If you want your fairly-tale wedding then this is your place. The house and grounds are so beautiful as well as 'very grand', 'outstanding' & 'classy' (quotes from guests!). They were blown away by how amazing the house is and how it looked, especially the ballroom & morning room all decorated. The Bridal Suite itself is out of this world. All of this coupled with the expertise and help from Anna & Becca then your day will be perfect. Becca looked after us from start to finish and the day ran like clockwork. Can't speak highly enough about this fabulous place and the people that run it. A day to remember. If I could do it all again I really would. Thanks you so so much for making our totally awesome. Thicket are a lovely team who look after you so well throughout the organisation and day of your wedding. The venue itself is so beautiful, and Becca and the rest of the team were unbelievable supportive and kept everything running smoothly. They thought of all the things you don’t even know need doing, and we’re so helpful with all the changes and challenges involved in trying to organise a wedding during a pandemic.

Simply magical. No better way to describe this place. They made the entire Priory feel like it was ours for the weekend. And they were so amazing to work with. The staff was so friendly and hospitable and the management is so welcoming and personable but also professional. This place will always feel like a slice of home to us now. From the sumptuous, tastefully designed interiors which offer such detail, depth and love, with captivating stories to be discovered at every turn and in every room…To the sensationally warm and welcoming team led with complete class and professionalism by the wonderful Anna… Through all the uncertainty and stress, TP remained calm, supportive and flexible to help realise our dream wedding…and wow was it incredible. Such an amazing venue! We were looking for something spectacular for our wedding, a private venue with room for all our guests and Thicket Priory ticked all our boxes!

From the moment you drive down the long, magical driveway, you will fall in love with this place! The stunning, brand new interiors are jaw droppingly beautiful and the views in the grounds, including all the bridges around the lake make for some incredible wedding photos. Inside is light and airy, great for photos. Perhaps the best thing though is that the whole place is yours, you can make it your own home for a day, with no intrusions from other guests and decorate it in your own style!

The bridal suite and grooms suite (yes he gets one too!) are the most gorgeous, spacious rooms I’ve seen! The lighting was brill for makeup and photos!

The team at the venue were so helpful throughout our Covid- delayed wedding, from start to finish, they were friendly, engaged, enthusiastic and nothing was too much trouble. I couldn’t thank them enough for bringing our perfect day to life, after waiting so long!

No words can accurately describe how magical and breathtaking Thicket Priory is! Becca and her team are the most amazing people and have helped us plan an incredible wedding. They have been attentive to our every needs and have made this week end so special! We will forever remember our time there! We highly recommend Thicket Priory due to its uniqueness, its beauty, its staff professionalism, the beautiful gardens, the romantic rooms everything basically! It was so wonderful to all be together in one place and all the suppliers recommended by Thicket have made our wedding even more special! Highly highly recommend you will not find better! As soon as we walked into Thicket Priory we knew this was the place for us. It really has the “wow” factor without being OTT. The grounds are beautiful, matched perfectly with the reception rooms and bedrooms this venue offers.
Couples book wedding venues on the team working there-not just the venue itself. Their passion and love for all things romance and Thicket was extraordinary-and they have a great calming nature, very useful!

All our guests commented on the team being so lovely, friendly and helpful. Anna was amazing and made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Our guests and us felt relaxed throughout the whole weekend.

This was the first venue we looked at and we didn't need to look elsewhere. From the initial contact to the actual wedding, nothing was too much trouble for Becca and the whole team. The Priory is magnificent, it takes your breath away. The attention to detail was outstanding. It's a home from home for the duration of your wedding and you are not sharing it with anyone else apart from your guests. If you want a 5* wedding in a magical venue, look no further.

Thicket Priory is simply the best! The venue is on a different level to any other venue I have seen. Connor and I only looked at two wedding venues, Thicket Priory being one of them, and we knew instantly this was the one for us. We wanted somewhere exclusive, with bedrooms and lovely grounds and this venue provides this plus so much more! We had to postpone due to COVID and Anna, our wedding coordinator, couldn't have been more supportive and helpful. Anna was so responsive over emails, always there to give us advice and kept us up to date with all the changes throughout COVID. Not only was Anna all of these things, Anna is a lovely person who knows exactly what she is doing. Anna made us feel so calm throughout the whole weekend and was on top of absolutely everything. All the staff are wonderful!
The venue itself is breathtaking: the ballroom, bar area, bedrooms, all the kitchens, the grounds, the list could go on! We were very lucky to get married outside at the Band Stand and it was truly amazing, plus it worked really well as we had quite a big wedding!
I would 100% recommend staying the whole of the weekend to make the most out of the venue: it was like we were abroad! Getting ready there was one of my favourite moments and there was so much space for all the bridal party. It was an unforgettable weekend and I hopefully we can go back as a guest for another wedding!

Every newly engaged couple in the country should know about this venue! It was the first venue we happened upon and we fell in love immediately. The building, grounds, room decor, range of ceremony spaces and exclusivity make it unbeatable. In our opinion there is nothing of this calibre available in the UK.

We were able to celebrate our marriage here in October 2021 having postponed due to covid. We were able to postpone with ease and the staff at the venue were always fair and understanding at such an uncertain time.

Everything about the planning and the day was perfect. Anna helped us plan every detail (down to the time my mum was due to have her buttonhole fastened on the wedding morning) so that on the day everything was seamless. The whole of the staff were a dream and made sure we had nothing else to think about on the day other than our marriage. They were working so hard in the background to talk with all our vendors and keep the day running smoothly! All of our guests and vendors alike kept commenting on how helpful the venue staff were and how this made the whole event so much easier!

We could never put into words just what the team at Thicket have given to us. It’s the kind of wedding we never imagined possible and we’re forever indebted to Anna and the team. They really are the best at what they do and Thicket will forever have a piece of our hearts!
